Paul,
Thanks for the input. That is actually more than I would have thought to have been done this year. I am familiar with the 203K and I have done some with past clients. The consumer has to be a little more stable and financially capable, but this is true with most HUD home purchases. I'm not sure how many loan officers like doing 203K, because I don't hear many of them talking about them.
The latest information is that many of the HUD homes are not showing up on HUD's website, but are listed in our local MLS. Something about the migration from one site to another, it dropped or lost some of the listings. From my understanding, they are working to resolve the issue.
Thanks,
Carolyn

Hi Carolyn. Most FHA lenders today actually do offer the FHA 203(k) loan. 12 months, even 6 months ago was a different story, but now consumers are demanding the 203k. In the Tulsa area, there are at least 8 lenders, including Bank of Oklahoma, who did 6 203k loans in October 2010 and 68 YTD. There are also at least 100 lenders in Tulsa that can offer the 203(k). The challenge is that not too many consumers and Realtors know about the many benefits of using an FHA 203(k). This is why we educate contractors and Realtors on the 203k. Let us know how we can help.
